Ruthie somehow got ahold of Grandmama's checkbook and wrote checks to Mary and Frank. Interesting is the O'Quigley in Frank’s name. I guess they dropped the O' to seem a bit less Irish.

This would have been years before the great stock market crash, when the family was quite wealthy and in the local society columns.
