On bears and old designers

If you go up Route 3 in Lincoln NH in the dead of winter, you'll find an unplowed lot at Clark's Trading Post. Clark's is known for their trained black bears, but those bears get a bit lonely in the off-season.

When they spot you, they'll climb their posts and do a few tricks. Oh, they'll be a bit slower than in summer, but they'll do them all right. And, if you clap and put a few peanuts in the can, they'll pull the rope all the way up to snack on their reward, and they'll give you another trick. You can be sure they'll send that can right back down to you.

I think I'm like the Clark's Bears in off-season. A little slow, but so accustomed to making layouts, proofreading and creating under deadline that I just can't stop. The old ad agency and newspaper work doesn't really leave you, so I guess I'll just keep putting out pages.
